Dr. Zelaikha Mohsin Al-Wahedi is a highly dedicated, passionate and competent physician who has committed herself professionally to the field of Family Medicine since 1999 under Primary Health Care Corporation. She is currently the Asst. Professor of Family Medicine in Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, and holds a Fellowship in Family Medicine from University of Toronto-Canada, an Arab Board Specialization in Family Medicine, and an M.B.B.S degree from the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain.
An experienced Clinical Manager for West Bay Health Center, with 22 years’ senior experience in Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care Corporation, leading best practice primary health care services and delivery, for the State of Qatar.
Her involvement in various leadership tasks and duties has trained her to be a highly effective leader in the organization. Some of her noticeable achievements include the Initial ACGME International Accreditation for the Family Medicine Residency Training Program in December 2013 and the Advanced Re-Accreditation of the Program in June 24, 2015. Both are a breakthrough achievement that verifies her highly effective leadership.
Currently assigned with the positions as Executive Director for Workforce Development and Training, Chairperson of Family & Community Residency Program and Program Director of Family Medicine at PHCC. She is equally involved as well with various strategic Committees either internally within Primary Health Care Corporation, or externally with Hamad Medical Corporation and the Arab Board Council of Medical Specializations.
In addition, she regularly updates her knowledge in Management and Decision-Making skills by attending regional and international courses, workshops and conferences on Management in Healthcare Institutions.
An active member supporting the launch and establishment of the PHCC Scientific Research Day under the patronage of H.E. Abdulla bin Khalid Al Qahtani, Former Minister of Public Health; aiming to improve primary health care research, evidence based primary health care practice, policy and intervention.
