Dr. Waleed Al Faisal

Waleed AL Faisal is an associate professor of public health. He worked as a head of Family and Community Medicine Department, Faculty of Medicine, Damascus University, Syrian Arab Republic from the 19th of Sep 2007 till the 25th of February 2011. Waleed joined after that time Dubai Health Authority, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and still working there till now.
Born in 1963 in Damascus, Syria, Waleed graduated as medical doctor from Damascus University, Faculty of Medicine in 1987, and continued his postgraduate studies in Cairo, Egypt to get the Doctorate of Public Health from Kasr El Aini Faculty of Medicine in 1997.
Most of Waleed’s experience has been built in Damascus University through teaching and training on public health and community medicine sciences to under- and post- graduate students. In addition, he built significant experience through cooperation with national and international health agencies. Examples are being a short term consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO) in several occasions, a board member of Middle east and North Africa Health Policy Forum (MENA HPF) since 2006 till now, and a member of the Scientific Board of Family and Community Medicine specialization in the Arab Board, 2008.
Waleed has a considerable list of contributions to books as either an author or a translator. In addition he has a lot of papers published in international health journals.
Waleed is married to Siham Jebril and has two daughters A pharmacist, Salam, and an economist Nagham.
